Do you like Jeeps?  Well, I have a few of them and am working on something a bit different.  Below is my 1985 CJ-10a tug.  These were made for the Air Force and Navy for use as aircraft tugs.  Designed to pull up to 40,000 pounds.  Powered by a Nissan SD33 diesel engine with a TF-727 transmission and a Dana 70 out back with 4.88 gears and a Gov Loc inside.  The truck was a 2 wheel drive but used a NP-198 transfer case that was essentially a NP-208 locked in low range.  The top speed was about 15 miles per hour and she was heavy!  The tug weighs nearly 6,000 pounds because of a 1,400 pound ballast weight and a heavy steel bed.

The plan is to make the tug into a small pick up truck by extending the frame a bit and using a step side bed from a 70s Chevy pick up in place of the existing bed.  The Dana 70 will be narrowed and a Dana 44 installed up front.  HMMWV wheels and tires will raise it up a bit.  She currently has a NP-208 transfer case and is running around Clarksville, TN.  I get some strange looks while driving it!

If you need XJ or CJ parts, shoot me an email!
